Minecraft Hour of Code Adventurer

I think that Minecraft Hour of Code Adventure is a awesome way to teach people the basic concepts of coding like to have a character move a certain amount of steps later and preform a certain act like this!

We also had to use a "repeat loop" so we got work done faster and so that our character did what it needed to do faster.
Also we had to learn how to use a "if then" statement so that our character didn't fall into lava. Instead they placed a block on the lava so they could continue moving forwards.

I think that coding is important to learn, or at least understand the basic concepts of, coding so that we can, number one, understand the work that is required for almost everything that we use today. And number two, so that we can change things slightly if they aren't working. Like if your playing a game in Minecraft and one of the command blocks some how got messed up and your game crashed. Wouldn't you want to know how to figure that out on your own instead of googling how to work a command block in general? Coding would help you understand what is going into every game that you play and understand (pretty well) what is going on to make that game happen.

Minecraft Hour of Code Designer

I think that the Minecraft Hour of Code Design is really cool and helps us understand what goes on behind the screen and lets us create our own Minecraft which is awesome! Minecraft Hour of Code Design is part of Hour of Code which is a website that helps us learn how to code. I had so much fun playing Minecraft Hour of Code Design! It taught me the different things that go into each mob like when spawned, when touched, when used, when attacked, when day, and when night.
You also get to make certain noises and items drop/happen when you do certain things in the game.

Plus I you get to learn how to make a mob move towards or away from you. It makes me understand what goes on inside Minecraft more so now I understand some of the weird things that have been happening to me at home in Minecraft and at school in the game that we are making.
I was taught how to make mobs (or anything really) do certain things when one thing happens like it turning day or them being attacked. We also used a "forever do ____" which I hadn't used before. This let me make something do the same exact thing forever, like make a chicken move two steps forwards and turn in a random direction or make a cow mo every five steps.
When you learn coding like this it helps you understand what goes into everything instead of staring at tons of words and symbols and wondering what they mean.

The Maker Movement

Image result for raspberry pi
The Raspberry Pi seems amazing to me! Especially since I'm using Minecraft to make my game. It just seems like it would be super helpful to my group because then we could mod our animals and bad/good guys to make them look the way we want them to. I would  probably make some custom villagers that look like what the characters in our game should look like since they won't just be normal villagers! Plus this would just be our group learning how to do something and our teacher wouldn't be telling us how to do everything, it would just be us and that seems like it will be fun!
The Raspberry Pi can do almost anything that a regular computer is since it is basically a little computer, except that it is more cool. It can be a normal computer, it can help you learn to mod, learn electronics, you can take pictures with it, helps with robots, network storage, and a retro game consule. All in all, this Raspberry Pi seems pretty amazing to me with all the cool things it can do! I think it would be great in a classroom or at home. I hope you have fun if you get it!
